Every match best of 3 sets, each set to 21
Weekly prize draw: to enter, you must do both: reach 20 points in a week and follow @bajanroadtennis on Instagram. Players who don’t follow the page can’t win. One winner is picked at random after the week ends, and we’ll announce it on Instagram. Full rules
Beat the computer to earn points: Easy 2, Regular 4, Pro 8 for a game to 21 (half for a short game). In the Island Cup you earn points for every win, plus 10 for lifting the cup.
Keep your points: your points are saved on the phone and browser you play on. Play on the same phone all week, don’t use a private tab, and don’t clear your browser data, or you’ll start again from zero.
Competition rules
Weekly Challenge, 2 to 29 November 2026
Free to enter. No purchase or sign-up is needed. Just play the game.
Who can enter: anyone living in Barbados. Players under 18 need a parent or guardian’s permission, and must collect any prize with them.
Dates: the challenge runs for 4 weeks, from Monday 2 November to Sunday 29 November 2026. Each week runs from Monday 12:00 am to Sunday 11:59 pm, Barbados time.
Earning points: beat the computer to earn points. Easy 2, Regular 4, Pro 8 for a game to 21, and half that for a short game. In the Island Cup you earn points for every win, plus 10 for winning the cup. Games against friends don’t earn points.
Your name: type a nickname in the game so you can find yourself on the leaderboard. Players without one show as “Player”. Your player code, not your nickname, is what proves a win is yours.
Your phone keeps your points: your player code and points belong to the phone and browser you play on. Play on the same phone and browser all week. If you use a private or incognito tab, clear your browser data or switch phones, you get a new player code and your points start again from zero. Lost points can’t be moved to a new code.
Entering the draw: you must do both: reach 20 points in a week, and follow @bajanroadtennis on Instagram. Only players who follow the page can win. If the player drawn isn’t following @bajanroadtennis, we draw again.
The draw: one winner is picked at random every Monday from everyone who qualified the week before. The winner’s nickname is announced on Instagram and our WhatsApp channel.
Claiming your prize: message @bajanroadtennis on Instagram within 3 days with a screenshot of your player code (Play online → Your player code). It must match the winning code, and you’ll need photo ID to collect. If the prize isn’t claimed in time, we draw again.
One prize per person during the challenge. If someone wins a second time, we draw again.
Grand final: the 4 weekly winners play a live online knockout on Monday 30 November 2026, Independence Day, at Pro level (Barbados time). Semi-final 1, Week 1 winner v Week 3 winner, starts at 6:00 pm, and Semi-final 2, Week 2 winner v Week 4 winner, at 6:30 pm. The two semi-final winners play the AffinityPlus Grand Final at 8:00 pm for the grand prize. As in a real road tennis match, every semi-final and the Grand Final is best of 3 sets, each set a game to 21: the first player to win 2 sets wins. If a weekly winner can’t play their semi-final or the Grand Final, the player with the next-most points on that week’s leaderboard takes their place. The grand prize is $500 in credit union cash from AffinityPlus Credit Union, placed on an AffinityPlus account in the winner’s name. If the winner isn’t a member, $100 of it ($50 for under-16s) goes towards joining and the qualifying share account, and the rest is placed on the account.
Prizes are as announced and can’t be exchanged for cash.
Fair play: anyone who tampers with the game or their points is disqualified. The organiser’s decision is final.
Your details: we only ask winners for their name and phone number, and only use them to deliver the prize.

Finals night, 30 November. Choose the match, then type the two players' names and player codes to make each of them their own link. Send the links on the day: when both have tapped theirs, the game adds them as friends and starts the match by itself, at Pro level, best of 3 sets, each set to 21. Semi-finals show as "Semi-final" in Live now. Fireworks, confetti and the champion banner follow for the winner, on their screens and for everyone watching.
Without codes, this general link still marks a match as the final, but the players then have to invite each other themselves:
The game is presented by Glow Bubbles Caribbean Inc. Type a sponsor's name into any spot to show it in the game before a pitch. Names are saved in this browser only.
How to play
Press Swing to serve. As in real road tennis, the serve bounces once in your own court, then carries over the board. Your player runs to the ball on their own.
Watch the ball bounce on your side. A ring closes in on your racket.
Swing as the ring closes. It turns green at the sweet spot, and a sweet shot lands deep and fast. A high bounce gets an overhead smash.
Swing too early or too late, or let it bounce twice, and you lose the point.
Games go to 21, win by 2, with the serve changing every 5 points. Pick “Short game” for a quick match to 11. Island Cup matches go to 11.
Changing level starts a new game. Easy gives you the widest timing window.
The real game
Road tennis was born on the streets of Barbados in the 1930s and is credited to Lance Bynoe. Players use wooden rackets and a tennis ball stripped of its fuzz, on a court painted straight onto the road.
Court about 21 × 10 ft8-inch wooden board netWooden rackets
Games go to 21, the serve changes every 5 points, and at 20–20 you must win by 2, just like on the road.
